I’ve officially graduated!! :)

Finally got my results yesterday for the past semester… I’m so thrilled and happy at my achievements in the past 4 years!! And especially relieved I didn’t screw up my final semester at all! Was particularly worried for FYP, cuz I wasn’t sure if I really did a good job at all, since I was faced with many difficulties and other problems with the project.. Thankfully my prof was really very patient and nice.. And I really have to thank him for giving me an A for FYP!! I noe i’m bragging here, but really, I’m juz so glad all my hard work paid off in the end!

Yay!!!!! I juz can’t contain my happiness!!!

Gold Coast- Day 7 (final day)

Day 7:

The night before was spent on stuffing everything into our luggage.. Dead tired by the time we woke up in the morning.. Scanned thru the apartment to ensure nothing was left behind.. Took a few more shots ard the apartment before we left.. Gonna really miss the place! Totally enjoyed myself and did quite a bit of catching up as well! I’ll miss the strong winds which nearly blew us away, literally… It was at about 110km/h, according to the news! That’s how fast the speed of the wind was, which we had to endure during the whole trip.. But it was quite fun at the same time, cuz everyone was constantly trying to hold on to me as I kept getting “blown” away! It’s either I’m simply too lightweight or the wind was juz too strong!

I was juz getting so adapted to the weather, but had to come home no matter how.. Will go back there someday if I haf the chance!

Gold Coast- Day 6

Day 6:

2nd last day of the trip… Spent the day at Dreamworld.. Luckily the weather managed to hold up, even though there were occasional rainfall which didn’t really last very long.. I touched the koala bear and kangaroo!! Their fur is simply so soft and wonderful to touch.. Like little furry teddy bears! And they were all so cute and adorable! The white tigers were really beautiful and smart! And tigers do climb trees after all! So dun assume u can escape from a tiger by climbing real high up the tree!!

As for the thrill rides, they were definitely twice as exciting and “dangerous” compared to Movie World! Scared the hell out of me!

This is called “Wipeout”. I love this ride! Damn fun!

Gold Coast- Day 5

Day 5:

We booked a one day tour so that we cud get into the hinterland- that is the Springbrook National Park… Basically, it is quite inaccessible by public transport unless u rent a car and drive in.. Anyway, the forest is amazing.. Lot of interesting plants.. Best of all- the waterfalls and the view at the top.. Even rainbow amongst the waterfall! Gosh! I dun even feel like leaving the place at all… But it was a very long and tiring hike to the top.. My shoes, socks and jeans were wet at the end, and some frenz got bitten by leeches! Though it was tiring, we all didn’t regret booking for the tour.. It was an eye-opener for us.. The view you see is not sth that you can see in Singapore at all… It was all worthwhile.. I dun tink i’ll ever forget the scenery at the top… What more can be better than this?

Before we ended the day, we decided to go up to Q Deck, which is a 77 storey building, the tallest in Gold Coast, where we can view the entire city. Amazing night view!

Gold Coast- Day 4

Day 4:

The sun is out at last!! Good news for us as we headed down to Movie World (at last!).. I have to say that I really love Movie World the most out of the whole trip.. Home of the Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird and a lot of other characters as well.. Lots of thrill rides which really got us pumping high.. The rides we took were definitely 2-3 times more frightening than those at Downtown East.. Bought lots of great souvenirs too.. We got to catch a parade by the various characters- Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Scooby Doo, Batman, catwoman and a whole lot more.. Best day i ever had…

Gold Coast- Day 3

Day 3:

Can’t believe the news when we were watching it in the morning.. Was supposed to head down to Warner Bros. Movie World, but we were disappointed at how the weather was going… It was insane! We were caught in the middle of a storm, which was the worst since 1974! How “lucky” to be stuck in such a historical event for Australia.. We were all feeling down and gloomy, so decided to play some card games while waiting to see if the weather would clear up soon.. But the wait was going nowhere, so we decided to call a cab once again to get us down to one of the largest shopping centre in Gold Coast- The Pacific Fair…

Did quite a bit of shopping, esp for souvenirs.. The stuff in Australia ain’t that cheap at all… Finally, the rain slowed down a little towards the night.. Night time usually comes at about 4.30pm in Gold Coast (not sure abt the rest of Australia though). We were kinda surprised by how different it was from Singapore.. Anyway, had a great Korean dinner for the day… And we were all praying hard that the weather wud be good the next day…

The shopping centre..
It was literally designed like the compass- shops in the North, East, South and West

Gold Coast Day 2

Day 2:

Spent it at the famous Sea World.. But before that, it was a nice walk down the Gold Coast beach.. Simply breathtaking!

Sea World has got lots of beautiful corals and sea animals… Mainly educational stuff.. And of course, there were some thrill rides and shows too.. A really lovely place.. We almost couldn’t make it there cuz it was raining early in the morning.. Fortunately, the rain managed to stop juz about the time we got there.. I’ll just let the pictures do the talking…

Picked up a long time fren from the Gold Coast airport later in the day… Did some good catching up.. The trip was only just getting better from here on…

Graduation trip- Gold Coast Day 1

Finally back to blog after so darn long!! The past semester has been totally insane for me, especially with FYP thesis and technical paper to complete, and also preparations for the FYP presentations. Plus a whole load of other assignments and mid-term tests from the other modules.. Been busy is only an understatement.. Words can’t describe how I felt when I finally completed the examinations.. It was juz fantastic to treat myself to a holiday down at Gold Coast, Australia… Lots of planning had been done for the trip and I haf to say that it was a good trip for me to relax and rejuvenate as well..

Day 1:

Before landing, we managed to take some shots of the sunrise in Brisbane from our window seats! Really beautiful!

Upon reaching Brisbane airport, we took a the subway down to Nerang station where we had further transport arrangements..

I think that’s the airport tower…

Inside the train… Btw, there are toilets in the train…

The train platform

Some views during the train ride

A driver at the station drove us in a limousine down to our apartment… The view from the apartment was simply spectacular… Our apartment was by the river!

The apartment was pretty huge too! Equipped with kitchen facilities, washing facilities, a balcony and a huge living room… Not bad considering the cheap price we paid for it…

Headed down to the Arts Centre by foot, but we were “greeted” by huge gusty winds and heavy rain.. Totally soaked by the time we got there… Ended up in the washroom, trying to dry ourselves with loads of tissue cuz there wasn’t any hand dryer inside.. In the end, the rain was so heavy, and we were all feeling so cold that we decided to call a cab.. It was seriously FREEZING cold… Even though the temp was prob abt 20 degrees. The strong winds only made the air felt colder… When the cab came finally, we were totally shocked by how fast the meter runs every minute! It’s not like Singapore at all.. The meter literally runs darn fast, abt 10 cents every few seconds.. Luckily we’re sharing the cab cost, or else it’ll be a huge hole in my pocket..
